ABOUT US
Emergency Response Network launched on June 1, 2007 with a directory of organizations that assist in the preparedness, response, or recovery for local emergencies or large scale disasters. We are a neutral organization which does not solicit or accept donations for disasters.
Emergency Response Network provides the industry a directory to help the public find organizations to volunteer with and financially support. The directory also helps organizations identify and connect with each other.
It took a disaster the magnitude of Hurricane Katrina for the United States to recognize the inadequacies in our response to disasters. In 2008, an economic crisis identified similar inadequacies in the support system for the nonprofit sector including those that assist in emergencies and disasters. Many of these organizations are working at reduced capacity, have closed, or are at risk of closing. At the same time, the demand for service is increasing and communities across America are in need.
In response to this need, Emergency Response Network is working with Infrastructure Organizations, Capacity Builders, and HelpSmart to identify tools and services which will help the organizations that assist in emergencies and disasters, reduce cost, increase funding, and advance their mission. Some of these tools and services are free, offered at a discount, or available by special promotion.
